accessing nature

“Nature is not a place to visit. It is home” - Gary Snyder

Nature is one of our greatest teachers of mindfulness. The outside world is constantly evolving; nothing is permanent. When we pause to notice the warmth of the sun, the movement of the wind through the trees, the rhythm of birdsong, or the scent of the earth after rain, our attention naturally shifts away from thinking and into direct experience. In many ways, nature becomes a portal to presence, reminding us that we are not separate from the world around us but deeply connected to it.

Mindful Floral Arranging workshops

Locally grown flowers have a unique way of inviting us into the present moment. In these mindful flower arranging workshops, we combine simple mindfulness practices with seasonal floral design to cultivate creativity, presence, and a deeper connection to nature. Arranging becomes less about creating the "perfect" bouquet and more about experiencing beauty, attention, and gratitude. You'll leave not only with a beautiful arrangement, but with practices for bringing greater awareness and appreciation into everyday life.

Given Tobie’s connection to Little Acre Flowers, DC’s only 100% locally sourcing florist, all greenery and flowers are sourced from nearby farms. Everthing is fresh, beautiful and seasonal. All materials are provided.

outdoor Nature immersion

“We depend on nature not only for our physical survival, we also need nature to show us the way home, the way out of the prison of our own minds.” - Eckhart Tolle

Reconnect with yourself through the rhythms of the natural world. These mindful nature workshops combine guided meditation, mindful walking, and quiet time outdoors to help you slow down, awaken your senses, and cultivate a deeper sense of presence. We'll practice noticing the sights, sounds, textures, and patterns of nature while exploring simple mindfulness practices that support nervous system regulation. Whether sitting beneath the trees in meditation or walking with intention, you'll discover how nature can become both a refuge and a teacher, inviting you to return to the present moment with greater ease and wonder.
